Building Relationships

By building ongoing relationships with our clients and artists, we aim to continue to work together to successfully achieve their artistic visions. Collaborating with design firms and architects, we establish a clear understanding of the visual and technical requirements of the individual spaces and we work with them to effectively and efficiently create exciting, design driven art selections.

We strive for a high level of authenticity by engaging local artists and artisans wherever possible. By commissioning both local and international artists we can combine the best of both creative worlds.

Meet the Team

Charles Orchard
CEO and Founder

Charles Orchard moved from London to Asia 30 years ago in his career as an art consultant and furniture designer. After establishing offices in Hong Kong, Rangoon, Delhi, Miami, and Maldives, he is now based between Bali and the UK. In 2000, he launched iBal Designs to supply artwork, accessories and furniture to the rapidly expanding international hotel industry including prestige hotel brands such as: Mandarin Oriental, Park Hyatt and Four Seasons. Charles has also been commissioned as a Style Consultant by private clients to engage and manage interior designers, architects and suppliers on selective luxury projects.

Charles’ passion for art, travel, history and literature gives him an eclectic understanding of diverse cultures. He took a 2-year hiatus to be the publisher of the Royal Geographic Society magazine and has published 8 books on Asian style and design. His latest book, Singapore Colonial Style, is now available in bookstores.

Charles is Chairman of the Indonesian non-profit ROLE (Rivers, Oceans, Land, Ecology) Foundation which provides female vocational training programs to alleviate poverty and promote environmental sustainability.

Anmarie Myers
Art Director

Anmarie has a Bachelor of Fine Art and Education from UNSW (University of New South Wales), Sydney. She has worked with Charles at iBal Designs for 20 years. Building on initial consultations with designers, Anmarie liaises with commissioned artists and artisans to source and develop artwork from numerous countries. She enjoys collaborating with designers to successfully realise their artistic vision for the constantly evolving global styles and requirements of hospitality artwork.
